Meet the Team
Tonya and Chris met in 2014 while training karate—Tonya, a blue-eyed white belt testing the waters (and in Chris’s opinion would surely never stick around), and Chris, a seasoned blue belt with years of martial arts experience (but in Tonya’s opinion was too short for her liking). Their decision to get married surrounded planning a trip to Okinawa in 2016, where they participated in a successful Guinness World Record attempt with nearly 4,000 people performing the same kata. (The record has since been surpassed by a group in India with over 5,700 participants in 2018.)
At home, Baron and Tessa, their two beloved dogs, were calm, mature six-year-olds at the perfect age to welcome the couple's growing family. In 2017 and 2019, Tonya and Chris welcomed Jaxon and Lilly. While initially skeptical of the new humans, Baron and Tessa quickly warmed up once the kids started sharing snacks!

As Baron and Tessa aged, they faced health challenges—Tessa with degenerative disk disease and arthritis, and Baron, unexpectedly, with osteosarcoma. The family chose quality over quantity for Baron's remaining time. Not long after, they brought home Bullet, a lively Daniff puppy, hoping he might learn a few things from Tessa, although she wasn’t thrilled about her new “little brother” at first. Eventually, Bullet won her over with his playful spirit and generous sharing of treats.

Bullet, now the official taste tester at B&T Pets, inspires Tonya and Chris to focus on quality nutrition that promotes healthspan. Tonya leads in the kitchen, working with suppliers to bring her ideas to life. Chris supports everything from social media to vendor events, while Jaxon and Lilly help with packaging and, of course, feeding Bullet all the "test treats."

Proudly Canadian, the B&T team values local ingredients from Southwestern Ontario whenever possible. They’re committed to honoring Baron and Tessa’s legacy by helping other families enjoy healthier, more joyful years with their pets.
