From Toronto Tech to Forest City Roots

Founded in 2024 by Tonya Coulthard, B&T Pets is a testament to the pull of home. After building a successful career in Toronto, Tonya returned to her native London, Ontario, to raise her family and in time to apply her science background to a new challenge: the pet nutrition industry.

What began as a personal quest for better nutrition has evolved into a manufacturing facility at 480 Sovereign Road, where every treat is prepared with hands-on care.

Bridging the North-South Divide

Our commitment to transparency starts at the source. We don't just buy ingredients; we build partnerships.

Local Agriculture: We collaborate with Southwestern Ontario farmers to source premium proteins and organic produce, such as the emu used in some of our single ingredient products.

Northern Sovereignty: We take immense pride in our collaboration with our French-Canadian / Inuit partners for sustainably harvested northern proteins. This includes our Seal—a nutrient-dense, novel protein that is a powerhouse of Omega-3s, supporting metabolic health and shiny coats.

Ethical Innovation: By utilizing "novel" proteins like seal, rabbit, and bison, we provide hypoallergenic options for pets with sensitivities while ensuring a low-waste, high-impact nutritional profile.

The Science of the "Clean Label"

In an industry often clouded by fillers, we lean into simplicity and science. Our catalog features single-ingredient treats like Bison Puffs (freeze-dried liver) and functional supplements like Quail Egg Powder, which offers a unique blend of proteins, vitamins, and minerals in a highly bioavailable format.

We utilize two primary preservation methods to maintain nutrient integrity:

1. Freeze-Drying: This "gold standard" process removes moisture while keeping 97% of the original nutrients intact, perfect for our liver puffs and pancreatic enzyme supplements.

2. Gentle Dehydration: Used for our Bison Crisps, Roo Crisps, and many other products, this method provides a satisfying crunch without the need for artificial preservatives.

A Local Hub for Pet Health

While B&T Pets products are now found on the shelves of independent retailers across Canada, we remain deeply rooted in London.

Our new storefront at our Sovereign Road facility serves as a community education hub, and a chance to meet our guy Bullet. Here, local pet parents can consult with our team about science-informed nutrition and see firsthand how their pets' food is made.
